The Japanese army comes to the village in search of them, and the villagers hide the injured soldiers away in their homes. The villagers often bring food and supplies for the soldiers, but traitors Wang Baochang and Wang San discover trails of their blood. They alert interpreter Zhao Er, who leads a captain of a Japanese military police corp, Yamamoto Taro to threaten and kill the villagers one by one in order to pressure them. Dayong can't bear to watch his dear Guixiang and innocent villagers get killed, so he reveals the hidden location of the Eighth Route Army soldiers, making him a traitor to the village. The captured soldiers are tortured by the Japanese army in the camp, and Dayong decides to sacrifice his life and rescue them with bombs. The rescued soldiers tell the truth to the other villagers, and they finally understand what happened.
